In May 2009 RFSU, together with a Brussels based organisation called the European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development (EPF), arranged a study trip to Zambia for representatives from a number of national parliaments around Europe. The aim was to provide the parliamentarians with a clear picture of the SRHR situation in Zambia, including the lack of contraception, condoms and healthcare. The participating parliamentarians came from Sweden, the Netherlands, England, Scotland, Ireland, and Azerbaijan. The delegation met Zambian parliamentarians, administrative authorities, governmental representatives and organisations that work to improve SRHR in Zambia. RFSU’s partner organisations, Planned Parenthood Association, Zambia and Youth Vision Zambia hosted the trip.
