I took the emergency contraceptive pill a few weeks ago, and today another condom broke. I’d like to know whether I can take the pill again, even though I’ve taken one already during the same menstrual cycle. If not, what should I do?
You can take the emergency contraceptive pill several times within a month, but the effect becomes weaker. However, it is better to take the pill again than to do nothing. What could happen is that you get bleeding irregularities, as the pills postpone ordinary ovulation. Whatever you do, you should take a pregnancy test around three weeks after taking the emergency contraceptive pills.
