I had unprotected sex a week ago and want to get tested so I know that I haven’t caught any disease. How many days would you recommend that I wait before getting tested?
The usual recommendation is to wait a week before taking a test. It takes a certain amount of time for any bacteria to develop enough to show up in a test. In the case of an HIV test, you have to wait 12 weeks for the test to be reliable.
