STIs from oral sex?

Yesterday, I had unprotected sex with another man. I sucked him off and now I’m concerned that I might have caught an infection. Can you catch an STI from oral sex?

Yes, you can. However, the risk is lower for oral sex than for vaginal or anal sex. Gonorrhoea, chlamydia and HIV, for example, can be transferred through oral sex. If you’re concerned about having caught an STI, you can contact an STI clinic, for example, to see whether you need to be tested.
