RFSU has nineteen local branches spread across Sweden. Some are quite small, and are staffed by just a handful devoted volunteers; others are larger organisations with paid employees.
Each of our local branches is an organisational unit in its own right.
Being a non-profit organisation, our volunteers are very important to us. They work locally with peer-education and sexuality education in schools. Other activities they undertake include seminars, movie nights, and advocacy towards local MPs and local media. They also work with STI prevention, handing out free condoms and holding discussions regarding sexuality at various events, such as festivals.
A big challenge for the organisation is an initiative to strengthen RFSU locally. The creation of new local branches throughout Sweden will be a big step towards an even stronger RFSU. We are also working hard to engage new volunteers and involve them in RFSU's important work locally, nationally and internationally.
