Our priorities

Knowledge about our bodies, feelings and relationships is a human right. RFSU works to ensure that all young people have access to high-quality, inclusive and rights-based sexuality education, both within the Swedish school system and through our international partnerships.

Sexual and gender-based violence is a grave violation of human rights that exists in every society. RFSU works to end this violence by challenging the power structures and norms that enable it, through education and advocacy both in Sweden and globally.

Everybody should be able to be in a relationship and start a family. This without being hindered by discrimination based on gender, gender identity, sexuality.

Sexuality is a central part of life, regardless of whether and how one expresses it. Sexuality is not just sexual acts and practices. It is also a part of one’s identity, experiences, and relationships.

Everyone should have access to equal quality health and medical care. RFSU focuses on improving sexual and reproductive healthcare for especially marginalized groups, particularly those who experience racism.

Democracy and human rights are increasingly under threat, both in Sweden and globally. Activists and organisations advocating for the rights of women and LGBTIQ+ individuals are particularly impacted when democratic space diminishes.

The right to decide over one's own body includes the right to choose if, when and with whom to have children. RFSU works to ensure that modern, high-quality contraceptives are available, affordable and accessible to everyone regardless of their situation or where they live.

Access to safe and legal abortion is a fundamental human right. RFSU works to defend this right and ensure that every individual has the power to make decisions about their own body, health and future.
